I haven't really gotten into the activist postings yet, which I'm only slightly better at than political postings. Especially not the animal hugging side of me because I don't want folks to feel like I'm shoving my agenda down their throats. I'm so Quaker I can't get militant about anything.
Having said that, Julia Butterfly Hill, one of my favorite people in the world, was voted Most Admired Women of the Year by Good Housekeeping magazine and one of the Most Intriguing People of the Year by People magazine. Yeah, I had to reread that a few times myself to make sure it said what I thought it said. I'm not sure I can imagine ever owning either of those magazines.
Now she's fighting Columbia University, which is a good enough cause in its self, against their particularly brutal vivesection.
